A Healthcare Resource for Hiring Veterans

On the day we honor the members of America’s Armed Forces who have served on our behalf, it is appropriate to consider the challenges many veterans have transitioning back to civilian life.

As one of the most robust sectors of the economy, the healthcare industry offers a great source of employment, and United States military veterans provide a vast candidate pool for healthcare organizations. Our veterans possess the same level of ability and training as other candidates while also offering the skills and dedication that characterize our nation’s troops.

We encourage veterans to apply for jobs at Merritt Hawkins, and we encourage our clients to not only become aware of our veterans’ skills, but also assist them in recruiting and hiring veterans.

A new hiring resource, created by the American Hospital Association, provides specific information on how hospitals can hire veterans in medical occupations. “Hospital Careers: An Opportunity to Hire Veterans” explains the qualities that make veterans ideal candidates for hospitals and how hospitals can successfully recruit, hire, and retain veterans.
