This is a full time exempt position for an Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) working 4 days a week, 10 hour days in the Radiation Oncology department at the Palo Alto campus.
Stanford Cancer Center is recognized worldwide for our advanced clinical care, scientific research, and technological inventions. Our multidisciplinary cancer teams, involving surgeons, radiation oncologists and medical oncologist excels in providing cutting edge treatment for patients with cancer. Stanford radiation oncologists helped create and develop cutting-edge radiation therapies, such as CyberKnife®, and we continue to advance the field, offering stereotactic and intensity-modulated radiotherapy (SBRT and IMRT), brachytherapy, 3D conformal radiation, and other options. Our care team works closely with each patient to identify the best treatments; patients are seen by a treatment team and discussed in a multidisciplinary Tumor Board. Furthermore, patients have access to novel treatments through enrollment on a variety of clinical trials.
The APP will serve as a key member of our team, working with multiple radiation oncologists and integrating with nurse coordinators, clinical nurses, radiation therapists, residents, and the multidisciplinary group.
Nurse Practitioner Education: Master's or Doctorate Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university is, required. License/Certification: BLS - Basic Life Support, required. License/Certification: CA Registered Nurse (RN), required. License/Certification: Certification as a Nurse Practitioner by a nationally recognized nursing organization (e.g., American Academy of Nurse Practitioners-AANP, American Nurses Credentialing Center-ANCC, or any successor organizations), required. License/Certification: DEA - DEA Number from the US Drug Enforcement Administration, required. License/Certification: CA NP - Nurse Practitioner, required. License/Certification: NPF - NP Furnishing Number, required. Physician Assistant Education: Bachelor's degree or above from an accredited college or university. Graduate of a PA program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant, Inc. License/Certification: Current licensure as a Physician Assistant in the State of California is required. License/Certification: BLS - Basic Life Support, required. License/Certification: DEA - DEA Number from the US Drug Enforcement Administration, required. License/Certification: Must be board certified from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) at the time of hire and maintain certification during employment at SHC.
