The Department of Academics at Merritt Hawkins is honored to work with Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital (JHACH) located in St. Petersburg, FL on a national search to identify candidates for the Director of the Heart Institute. This candidate will also hold the role of Chief of Pediatric Cardiovascular Surgery. JHACH is a fully integrated member of Johns Hopkins Medicine, which includes Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and The Johns Hopkins Hospital and Health System.
The Heart Institute is one of four Institutes at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital. The other institutes are the Cancer and Blood Disorders Institute, Institute for Brain Protection Sciences, and the Maternal Fetal & Neonatal Institute. The Institutes’ backbone is a well-established clinical service line, encompassing the full continuum of care, enhanced and supported by research, education, quality and safety and patient advocacy. The Institutes’ organizational structure is matrix-based and led by the Institute Medical Director in collaboration with a Senior Director, Administration and a Senior Director of Nursing. The institutes are joined by comprehensive pediatric medical and surgical care. The clinical infrastructure of The Heart Institute consists of a 22-bed cardiovascular ICU, 2 cardiovascular OR’s, 2 cardiac cath/EP labs, and ECMO.Preferred Candidate:
- Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital seeks a Pediatric Cardiovascular Surgeon that has shown through their career the ability to be an exceptional clinical leader with vision and drive that can create a world-class program at the Heart Institute.
- Exceptional clinical skills, particularly in complex neonatal cardiac surgery
The successful candidate will hold a faculty appointment with Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine at the Associate Professor level or higher. As Director of the Heart Institute, you will lead a top-notch team that includes two pediatric cardiovascular surgeons, 15 pediatric cardiologists, as well as pediatric critical care and anesthesia.About Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital:
