The ideal candidate will be board certified or board eligible in Psychiatry, with additional certification or training in Geriatric Psychiatry, and will have previous experience working in an inpatient psychiatry unit. Additional expertise with ECT and/or TMS would be a plus. The incoming provider will work in the newly opened Geriatric Psychiatric Inpatient Unit at Tuality Community Hospital. Tuality Healthcare, an OHSU partner since 2016, is a not-for-profit, independent, community-governed health care system. Tuality Community Hospital, located in Hillsboro, OR, minutes from downtown Portland, is a 167-bed state-of-the-art acute care services facility that staffs ~400 physicians and healthcare providers, and over 1,100 employees.
The features of this opportunity include:

All ancillary services are available on-site, including pharmacy and labs. Excellent sub-specialty support available for medical consults.

  • We are seeking candidates who would be interested in block scheduling, i.e. 7-on-7-off. We are also open to considering an 8a-5p schedule if blocks are not desired. No in-house call required.
  • You will have a faculty appointment with the Department of Psychiatry at OHSU—additional opportunities to teach and mentor residents and fellows, as well as, access to educational resources.
The OHSU Department of Psychiatry supports residency training in general, child, geriatric and addiction psychiatry with over 40 residents and fellows making it one of the largest training programs at OHSU. The department enjoys national prominence in public psychiatry, cross-cultural psychiatry, mood disorders, sleep disorders, and circadian rhythm disturbances.
