Practice Opportunity: Physiatrist
Merritt Hawkins has been tasked with the recruitment of a Physiatrist to work primarily at this Medical Center in Wayne New Jersey.  The purpose of this search is to replace a physiatrist, who is relocating.
They are looking for a physician whose primary role is on the Acute Rehab Unit. There are 20 beds with an average census of 13.  Responsibilities are based on CMS guidelines for an IRF (Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility).  Minimally:  preadmission assessment via hand held electronic review of chart from the nurse liaison (minutes to complete and can be done anywhere), 24-hour post admission assessment note, overall plan of care review, biweekly team conferences (1hour each), 3 times/week progress/rounding notes and discharge summary. Assure PMDs stay within standards of an IRF; avoid overutilization.  Good will ambassador of the hospital to the community.
Please note:  all of the Acute Rehab Unit patients have a primary medical physician on the case who performs the medication reconciliation/management.  A physician assistant will assist with the inpatient unit when needed.
In the newly renovated outpatient office, approximately 2-3 half days per week, the physician will see Acute Rehab Unit patients in follow up approximately 1 month after discharge, as well as outpatient consults, and perform electrodiagnostic studies.
The weekend on call schedule is shared among 3 physiatrists.
They would like to find a physiatrist that has experience with acute rehab unit/inpatient rehab facility patients, Electrodiagnostic studies and musculoskeletal case. With an incentive to the salary, there is no paucity of potential cases and income.
