Merritt Hawkins Department of Academic Recruiting has partnered with Yale School of Medicine Department of Anesthesiology to find board certified, fellowship trained (or equivalently experienced) anesthesiologists for a faculty position in the Section of Neuroanesthesia. 
The Section of Neuroanesthesia provides care for over 1,000 adult patients annually, presenting for trauma, vascular, tumor, and interventional stroke care. The service is rapidly expanding in all areas of neuro-interventional procedures. The state-of-the-art neuro operating rooms enable intraoperative 3T MRI scanning and advanced interventional radiology procedures.
Highlights include:
  • Strong team of four that is seeking to grow their clinical footprint and clinical trials, especially given the University's interest in expanding the neurosciences
  • Established neuroanesthesia fellowship training program, as well as multiple clinical and educational opportunities for anesthesia residents
  • Seeking faculty that have an interest in clinical research, that are willing to work with others to develop skills in clinical research design and conduct
  • International research being done in neuroimaging and aging brains; so plenty of collaborative opportunities if you have interest in this area
  • Opportunities exist for leadership in growing spine service that includes an active neuromonitoring service

Yale New Haven Hospital is a Level I Trauma Center and a JCAHO Certified Stroke Center. There are robust clinical/translational research groups within the department including opportunities in T-32 and National Clinical Scholar Physicians programs and for participation in international collaborations. The Section of Neuroanesthesia works with active and clinically advanced neurological and neurosurgical services and a dedicated neurointensive care team.
