Merritt Hawkins has been tasked to recruit one Non-Invasive Cardiologist to join their hospital.
This hospital is the best in New York State, according to the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, which recently released its rankings of U.S. hospitals. The Centers assessed hospitals on four areas: mortality and patient safety, patient satisfaction, clinical care processes, and overall efficiency. Over its 125 year history, the hospital has grown and expanded to become a medical campus with a 162-bed acute care hospital and an attached 80-bed residential care facility. This hospital is located in a truly welcoming community within 30 miles of a medical university and within 35 miles of Syracuse, Ithaca, and Binghamton. This is a top destination to raise a family as there are excellent public schools and private school options. There are two Colleges in the town and it has a vibrant down-town area. All amenities are close by along with excellent restaurants, and a fantastic golf course and country club. As of 2018, the county population was close to 50,000. The City has around 20,000 people. The medical center’s primary service area has a population of 75,000 people.
The Hospital is a 162-bed acute care hospital with an attached 80-bed residential care facility. The medical center is accredited by the Joint Commission and provides area residents with a broad range of services. These services include cardiology, cardiac rehab, maternity, pediatrics, emergency services, prompt care, intensive care, laboratory, nutrition counseling, surgery, medical imaging, pharmacy, medical/surgical care, psychiatric care, respiratory care, and physical rehabilitation services.
Non-Invasive Cardiology Opportunity:
The incoming Non-Invasive Cardiologist will be employed by the Hospital. This will be a full time position with office hours from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday throughFriday. By being an employed physician in this established, stable practice, a physician will be able to devote themselves to delivering exceptional patient care without the worry and risk of owning and a practice.
In recruiting a Non-Invasive Cardiologist, the hospital seeks to complete its expert team to provide quality health care to a truly underserved community. There are currently two Non-Invasive Cardiologists in the practice along with a PA and NP. The clinical offices are conveniently located within the hospital. Currently there is a two month waiting period to see one of the CRMC Cardiologists.
This practice follows the team based approach towards medicine. This dynamic group collaborates very well together and the practice has a welcoming and synergistic atmosphere. They are looking for a physician that works well in this type of environment.
The group is seeking a Non-Invasive Cardiologist that has experience with EKG, ECG, ECHO, TEE, CT Scan for Cardio, and Cardiac Nuclear Medicine.
The incoming Non-Invasive Cardiologist will work Monday through Friday 8:00-5:00. The schedule will be split amongst the three cardiologists. They will alternate providing inpatient consults and outpatient care in the clinic. The group does not do admissions or discharges. The call is phone call only and will be 1:3 split amongst the physicians. While working in the outpatient clinic the Cardiologist will see an average of 21 patients per day. While working in the hospital, the Cardiologist does around 5 to 6 inpatient consults per day.
The incoming Cardiologist will be employed and offered a three year contract by the hospital with a starting salary from $450,000 to $480,000, based upon experience. The physician will receive a production incentive based on the MGMA wRVU’s median benchmarks for Non-Invasive Cardiology which is around a 6700 threshold, and will pay $65 per RVU which is also the MGMA median for Non-Invasive Cardiology. A busy cardiologist has the potential to earn $600,000 plus per year.
A physician will immediately be eligible for production bonuses which are paid on a quarterly basis. Sign-on bonus is up to $20,000. There is also a performance based bonus at $20,000. $15,000 for relocation. A physician receives 32 days PTO (includes vacation and sick time), and five days of CME at $3,000 a year. The benefits package includes: health insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, vision insurance, occurrence based professional liability insurance, and 403B retirement plan.
