Additionally, we are pleased to announce that Marlene R. Miller, MD, MSc, has been appointed Pediatrician-in-Chief for University Hospitals and Chair of the Department of Pediatrics at University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital. Dr. Miller comes from the Johns Hopkins Children’s Center in Baltimore, where she served as Vice Chair of Quality and Safety since 2003, and as Chief Quality Officer, Pediatrics, for the health system since 2014. Dr. Miller is looking forward to working closely with and supporting the incoming Chief of Pediatric Emergency Medicine.

  • The Division Chief will serve as the academic leader for a Division of 13 faculty within the Department of Pediatrics. 
  • Well established ACGME accredited Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship program.
  • The Marcy R. Horvitz Pediatric Center for Emergency Medicine/Level I Trauma Center is the dedicated children’s facility in University Hospitals’ 54,000 square-foot Center for Emergency Medicine.
  • Only Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center for Northeast Ohio region with 31,000 patient visits annually.
  • Strong child-centered team: dedicated pediatric RNs, medics, child life specialists, respiratory therapists, social workers, pediatric radiology staff, etc.
  • UHRBC is a 244-bed renowned children’s hospitals and a principal referral center for Ohio and the region.
  • The Department of Pediatrics is structured into 16 academic divisions, consisting of more than 160 faculty members, and a number of clinical multidisciplinary programs, representing the full disciplinary diversity of pediatric medicine today.
 
The successful MD or MD/PhD candidate with a sustained record of leadership accomplishment, operational expertise, and scholarly activity will be qualified to be appointed at the rank of Associate or Full Professor and will be eligible for an unrestricted medical license in the state of Ohio.  We would appreciate the opportunity to discuss this opportunity with you in detail or, welcome any candidate recommendations.
