On behalf of the St. Charles Health System located in beautiful Bend, OR, MillicanSolutions, LLC, is pleased to announce the initiation of a national search for a Chief Safety and Quality Officer.  We believe this to be one of the top roles for quality and patient safety in the country. 
 
The Chief Safety and Quality Officer (CSQO) provides executive leadership to ensure that patients receive safe, reliable and evidence-based care.  The position also supports efforts to assure a safe environment for caregivers to deliver the safest and highest quality care. The CSQO will work in a dyad relationship with the system Chief Nurse Executive to align health system clinical performance improvement goals and create processes and relationships that enable collaboration and defines accountability for consistent standards wherever patient care is delivered. Additionally, the CSQO oversees Clinical Informatics functions for the health system.
 
Transformational Leadership Highlights: 
  • Embraces Lean thinking and fosters relationships with medical staff to inspire, motivate, and lead a culture of Lean within the organization.
  • Leads initiatives to create an exceptional culture of safety throughout the system.
  • Responsibilities include the strategic deployment of patient safety and quality principles with a focus on improving patient outcomes, reducing risks, eliminating errors, implementing best practices and national initiatives, monitoring compliance, and leading organizational change. 
  • Has executive oversight of the Clinical Informatics department in partnership with the Chief Nurse Executive. 
  • The successful candidate acts as a leader in change management, is a strong, positive advocate for cultural change and directs the activity of others.
Experience Desired: 
  • Completion of an MD/DO degree and an accredited Residency program with a minimum of 10-years of clinical experience. 
  • A preferred 5-years of experience in healthcare management with responsibilities for quality improvement, project management, and patient safety. 
  • Experience in Lean improvement methodologies.
  • Certification in the American College of Physician Executives (ACPE) or equivalent.
  • Completion of IHI Patient Safety Officer or TeamSTEPPS curriculum (or within 1-year of employment).
