Job Type:
Permanent

The Department of Academics at Merritt Hawkins has partnered with Emory University School of Medicine and the Department of Hematology and Medical Oncology to recruit an experienced physician leader as the Director of GU Medical Oncology. The section of Genitourinary Medical Oncology is in the Division of Medical Oncology at Emory, within The Winship Cancer Institute, an NCI-Designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, the only in Georgia. Faculty members at Emory are active in research, medical education, and engaged in clinical care. This is a strong area for Winship - currently one of the leaders in clinical trials.  But the faculty is on the junior side and is in need of a dynamic GU Medical Oncologist to lead the way in terms of clinical and translational research.

Emory is one of only a few universities in the country that have a stand-alone Department of Hematology and Medical Oncology, providing a unique cancer-specific structure. As the Director of GU Medical Oncology, you will have direct oversight of the clinical and scientific research, clinical standards, and faculty development related to this area, and report directly to the Chief of Medical Oncology.

Position: Director, Genitourinary (GU) Medical Oncology
  • Seeking leader in the field of GU medical oncology to lead this section
  • Must have a history of successful research and funding, with the desire and ability to mentor junior faculty
  • Join a growing team of four (4) GU medical oncologists and work collaboratively with engaged urologists and radiation oncologists
This is a great opportunity for an experienced and dynamic leader within Genitourinary Medical Oncology.  Emory is a world-renowned university that has experienced tremendous growth in recent years, moving quickly from NCI designation to becoming a Comprehensive Cancer Center.
