Merritt Hawkins, the nation’s premier academic physician search firm, has partnered with a major Southwest Academic center to invite you to consider a Division Chief Neonatology opportunity that provides a unique balance of practice fulfillment, quality of life, and the opportunity to pursue sub-specialty interests. We are seeking mission-driven, quality-focused Neonatologist who has an interest in joining, leading, and the further development of a collaborative academic multidisciplinary team. The features of these opportunities include:
 
Division Chief Opportunity:
  • Seeking a Division Chief with demonstrated record of accomplishment in leadership, clinical excellence, patient care, education, mentorship, and research in order to develop the Division in all of its mission areas
  • Must be board certified and eligible for Associate Professor academic rank
  • Responsibilities include oversight for the NICU nurseries, newborn transport, a vibrant Neonatal Outreach and Developmental Care Program, and a Prenatal Consultation Program
  • Oversee Neonatal-Perinatal Fellowship Program with 5 Fellows
  • 30% Protected time for administrative, teaching, and scholarly activity efforts
  • Division is a member of the NICHD Neonatal Research Network and has numerous other active research programs in place with a directed focus on perinatal brain injury and adrenal function—Opportunity to assume leadership of the NRM with appropriate research credentials
  • Seeking Division Chief with an interest in the further development of programmatic initiative in translational research and academic medicine
  • Culturally diverse patient population
  • Only Children’s Hospital in the State—family-centered 52-bed level 4 NICU—only ECMO program in the state
  • Division includes a strong team of Neonatal nurse practitioners, program therapists, and social workers
  • Highly skilled subspecialty support—work closely and collaborate with Maternal Fetal Medicine specialists
